Born a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (Barnsley, Sth Yorkshire, England)..I first picked up the guitar at about age 10, but my dad smashed it over my older brothers head, so I guess age 11 before I got my first real one. I've been at it ever since. I've looked for a cure but I'm cursed and I'm afraid I just can't put the thing down. I love all types of music but acoustic is where my heart lies . Ive had more jobs than I care to remember between performing, my wife says I've got more uniforms than a fancy dress shop. Music has always been my passion and I've spend many a year on stage in different formats and I've loved every minute. These days I tend to write and record my own songs on a simple set up at home. Dreams of stardom went a long time ago for me, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at a little sniff of success even now, just for the money you understand HaHa. I'm fairly content with my lot in life just at the moment and hope you enjoy listening to my music here…Mel

About: Holly Kirby

Holly Kirby has been a gifted singer and musician and a creative musical composer from an early age. Her main instruments currently are the guitar, ukulele, piano and tin-whistle, although she has played others and hopes to learn more. She’s a natural and confident performer - she used that talent to great effect in a popular British TV show, appearing as Enya in front of an audience of millions, and earning congratulations from the great lady herself. Her work has also been commented on positively by other famous stars, including Alan Rickman (a particular favorite of hers!), and attracted a tweet from arch-twitterer (and film star) Ashton Kutcher!

Holly's YouTube channel, alpet07, is frequently one of the top music sites in the U.K. Her videos have been viewed over a million times, her channel main page over 150,000 times, and she has more than 10,000 subscribers who are notified of each new video she produces. On average, at every given second, there are now probably many dozens of people listening to Holly's music, and that number is rapidly increasing (especially as her songs are being played more and more on the radio).

Holly enjoys all sorts of music and is very open to new ideas and new sounds. In the last year much of her work has been an eclectic mix of Celtic, folk and pop music, to which she applies her own distinctive, clearly sung and often emotional sound. Holly is also a keen poet and artist, and many of her poems and songs have an almost interchangeable lyrical quality.

Holly especially enjoys performing music live, and as well as appearing on TV she has played her guitar and sang before crowds ranging in size from a couple of people while busking through to many hundreds in concert.

As well as music, Holly has a strong interest in English Literature and German, and briefly considered doing those subjects at Oxford University (as, amazingly, music was the weakest academically of her 3 'A' level subjects). Her particular speciality in English is the war poets (Wilfried Owen and Seigfred Sassoon) although she also greatly enjoyed the work of 19th century poets such as Wordsworth and Tennyson - a scene from one of Tennyson's poems is featured on her guitar.

Holly completed her final school exams in June 2009, and then took a musical gap year between school and university, having accepted a place studying Creative Music Technologyat the University of Surrey, starting Autumn 2010.

During her gap year Holly was very busy, performing frequent public and private gigs, and appeared at the Isle of Wight Festival, Bestival, FolkStation, the Wickham Festival, Ventnor Fringe, and many other events - you can see photos of some of these on the photos page. She was also involved in several musical and video collaboration projects, and was interviewed on BBC and other local radio stations.

In late May Holly launched her first album, A Woman You Don't Know, before a sell-out crowd . You can read a review of this great event in the Isle of Wight Gazette(page 40), and see see video clips of The Lady and The Past, Carey, Beautiful Deceit and My Little Ukulele Song from the album launch event. Throughout the last year Holly has continued to create and release new song videos on her popular alpet07YouTube site, which has achieved well over a million views and more than 10,000 subscribers.

Holly intends to work hard at improving all her skills during the next year. She is especially keen on performing music live. Here's an example set list, containing a selection of cover and original songs, although Holly can perform many others. In her gigs she plays her guitar Lady and sings a mix of originals, modern songs, and old traditional favourites, and sometimes performs some ukulele songs which often go down very well.

About: Harper Blynn

Harper Blynn is classic pop reimagined. About: Hey Champ

Hey Champ’s roots can be traced outside of Chicago in nearby Rockford, where band members Saam Hagshenas (Vocals, Guitar) and Jonathan Marks (Drums) discovered their love of music at a young age. After Saam’s graduation from law school, Jon’s fellow Princeton chum Pete Dougherty (Synths) set sail for Chicago, cementing the line-up of the group. They were discovered by Lupe Fiasco in the fall of 2008, who took them on a nation-wide tour.

Their music incorporates influences from disco, house and indie rock to the power-pop of Rockford’s hometown heroes Cheap Trick and the synth-heavy productions of Giorgio Moroder and Trevor Horn. Their infectious sound has garnered fans and made them blog and radio darlings from Portland to Paris to Porto Alegre.

Hey Champ released its “Anything At All EP” on May 10th, 2011. The EP was produced by Eliot James (Two Door Cinema Club, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs). The band kicked off 2012 with two successful remixes for Housse de Racket (Kitsune) and Sebastien Tellier (Record Makers), and is finishing its new EP due out this year.

Anima Pop was an Alternative Pop band formed in the summer of 2006 under the influence of Post-Punk: The Cure, Joy Division as well as the 90’s sounds as exemplified by bands such as Placebo, Kent, Moose and Radiohead.

The band gained a considerable amount of recognition and embarked on an International Tour of 150 concerts in important Festivals and Clubs across the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Switzerland & Portugal.

BIO: Six Volt

SIX VOLT is a band from the Jersey Shore and was formed in the winter of 2009 by Granger Whitelaw, Jr and Joe Cilento. The band now includes members Granger Whitelaw, Jr. (Vocals/Guitar), Joe Cilento (Guitar), Jake Wood (Bass), and Robby Webb (Drums). In the summer of 2009, the band was “discovered” by Andy Karp, the legendary head of A & R at Atlantic Records for 19 years, now working independently. In addition, Bob Chiappardi of Concrete planet, a 25-year veteran of the business, Peter Zizzo, Eric Sherman of 10th Street Entertainment and a number of others have joined the “band wagon” (no pun intended) in support of this new group. MICHAEL KELSEY is a rhythmic, inspired guitarist and performance artist who blends many musical genres with fervour and grace. When he hits the stage to perform, he plays every inch of his guitar pulling out every part of it or anything else an arm's length or foot kick away. Through out a performance Michael may make use of technolgy, his improve skills, objects in the room, and audience interaction to make music for the ears but more importantly a musical experience for the senses.

Born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, he began his musical journey weaving in and out of successful area bands as lead guitarist or bassist. Later he opened and ran a thriving recording studio, which after five years he retired in order to enable him to embark freely on his career as a solo artist.

His naturally soulful vocal illuminates carefully chosen lyrics that make his songs shimmer and shine. He plays expressively and manipulates the guitar to create a melodic fusion of alternate tunings and unorthodox hand positions allowing for him to achieve a full sound. The true beauty is in the way the song, the sound and the motion of his music unites. The songs, especially the lush instrumentals, can be reminiscent of the late, great Michael Hedges, but boast Kelsey’s personal percussive stamp, exceptional arrangement and deliberate instrumentation.

His live performances are particularly moving. Sometimes he sounds as if he’s deftly playing more than one guitar. At a Kelsey show audience members may actually lose themselves in the moment and forget they are listening to one person. They can be tapping their foot one minute, in a deep trance the next, then bursting into laughter.

"There is a five piece band in my head. They all have different tastes in music and they are all trying to escape at the same time through my hands, feet and mouth. I hang onto an acoustic guitar and see what happens," Kelsey sums up his stage show aptly. He is well versed in the art of entertaining and at every show he creates a rare army of sound that comes from one man, a voice and an acoustic guitar.

Whether he’s creating a song spontaneously for a lucky lady in the front row, telling a story complete with sound effects, or letting an inspired moment move his fingers around the fret board, Kelsey never performs the same show twice.

After performing an opening set for folk artist David Wilcox, David described Kelsey's show as “Cirque Du Soleil on acoustic guitar."

Kelsey’s abilities have enabled him to be noticed by many. A finalist in Guitar Player Magazine's national competition and winner of Guitar Center’s "Guitarmageddon," chosen as best unsigned guitarist out of over 3000 entrants nationwide says it all. This allowed him to be apart of Eric Clapton’s Crossroads 2004 performance where he shared the stage with many of the guitar legends such as Santana, Steve Vai, Eric Clapton. He has toured nationally with Blind Melon and Dishwalla and has opened shows for many artist of many styles including The Doobie Brothers, 38 Special, Rodrigo and Gabriella and the California Guitar Trio.
