BIO: Lana Lane

LANA LANE is an accomplished rock vocalist with a long history of albums and tours. Born in Concord, California to a musical family, Lana grew up with a balanced diet of both rock music and big band swing music. Since music was always in the house, singing came very naturally to Lana, and she started singing in bands straight out of high school. To forward her career, Lana moved to Los Angeles in the late 80s where she met her husband / producer Erik Norlander.

Lana's first album, Love is an Illusion, was released in 1995 to critical acclaim. It soon caught the ear of a Japanese record company, Marquee Belle Antique, who saw great potential in the music, and of course in the voice of Lana Lane. The company released Lana's second CD, Curious Goods, in 1996, and then in 1998, Marquee launched a new high profile label called Avalon with the Lana Lane as their flagship artist. Avalon released Lana's Garden of the Moon album which skyrocketed her career on the international stage, resulting in her first European release.

Lana began touring in Japan in 1998 to support Garden of the Moon and the subsequent Ballad Collection and Queen of the Ocean releases. She then expanded her touring efforts to Europe in 2001 to support Secrets of Astrology with additional tours in 2003 and 2004. Lana released her first DVD, Storybook: Tales from Europe and Japan, in 2004 that documents her first years of touring on two continents.

Lana has been dubbed as "The Queen of Symphonic Rock" by her fans and the press, and yet she remains a very versatile artist able to move from intimate jazz pieces (Ballad Collections, Winter Sessions) to bone crushing progressive metal (Secrets of Astrology, Lady Macbeth, etc.). But in the end it is Lana's love of melody and artistry that reigns over all. Lana is a dedicated artist who approaches her craft with grace and integrity. She celebrated the 10 year anniversary of her first album in 2005 and subsequently released a live DVD and CD of her 10th Anniversary Concert Tour. Lana released an acclaimed collection of classic rock covers in late 2006 called Gemini, and her most recent release is Red Planet Boulevard, an original melodic rock album recorded in The Netherlands and San Francisco, California.

About: Dark Beauty

In a music scene where cookie cutter performers claim to be unique, Dark Beauty combines elements of dance, rock, opera, theater and world music into a true one-of-a-kind experience. The band’s classically influenced gothic alternative progressive rock gives fans a way to stretch their ears and experience styles and mixtures of music that they’ve never heard before.

Lead Vocalist and Songwriter Liz Tapia began this journey back in 2009 when she wrote and recorded the first song from the project “Save Yourself.” The song mixed a Middle Eastern beat with Santana-esque guitars, gothic lyrics and a soaring melody, beseeching a lover to turn away before it was too late. The song became instantly popular with fans of many musical styles, leading her to pursue the project and its main character on a grander scale.

Dark Beauty has since become a concept album depicting the tragic tale of the Dark Angel, and her tragic tale fall from grace. Banished from heaven she is pulled down from grace above, falling deep into the woods of the dark primeval forest. With a broken wing she now rules an old abandoned castle, containing secret passages, hidden staircases, and ruined sections.

Liz is a lyric coloratura soprano, whose smooth, warm, versatile voice adds infinite textures to the epic music she writes and performs. Her background in acting, film and musical theater all affect the musical scope and cinematic feel of her work. As complex as the music is, Liz knew the band would require the highest level of musicians possible to fulfill the full potential of her project!

Bryan Zeigler was the first member to join the Dark Beauty team as lead guitarist and co-writer. His years of experience with a multitude of progressive rock bands, as well as knowledge of the music business and arrangement skills were a perfect match. Soon after came the musical talents and versatility of master Drummer/Percussionist Dan Granda, who added a perfect combination of strength and finesse needed to stylize the epic story.

Gary Perkinson joined on bass, lending his classical skills, super easy going personality and wonderful musicianship, to anchor the band with Dan.

Dark Beauty is currently getting airplay by several stations hitting high marks on all charts and growing rapidly. The album is being engineered and produced by Artie Rodriguez, and the first album is scheduled to be released by Spring of 2013.

Sydney's The Preatures are fast becoming one of BobbySix.com's favourite up-and-coming bands. After almost a year together, an EP and some tentative interest from labels that weren't quite their cup of tea, they've decided to spend the next six months recording and releasing demos.

It's entitled The 66 Project and, like all good ideas, it's a pretty straightforward one. They plan to record and release as many high-quality demos (at least one a month) over the next six months, make everything free, and document the process.

The 66 Project officially begins in December but, in the meantime, the ever-generous bunch are kicking off by giving away their rather fine debut EP for free. They’re also releasing two offcuts from the EP, Young and Fictional Lover as free downloads.

Considering this is a band that are all about the songs rather than sticking to a genre or capturing a specific sound, their upcoming demo releases are sure to be pretty diverse, from acoustic folk and dark country to full-blown dirty-as-hell rock 'n' roll. So keep an eye on their 66 Project blog. After all, you can't ask for more than constant flow of high-quality, free music over the next few months.

The Mad Pride is the brainchild of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Rowan Galagher. I went to music when I was eleven. My fun was building drums with recycled leather and old pots. Their sound intrigued me, so I decided to
build rods cork to begin the first steps.

At the age of thirteen I met my first classical guitar. She was beautiful, the smell of wood made me mad. So I started playing the first chords. My teacher was a simple guide by the newspaper found. Soon the first songs I played.

The thing that distinguishes me from many experienced players had little appetite for cover. My goal was to study to create music, sounds and noises.

At seventeen I learned the midi from there on it was a continuous discovery.
At nineteen years, the first band J.R.P. (Mamis-voice, piano and drum machine-Fabry, Mark-bass, Helium-guitar, Robi-guitar) formed by five elements, still friends. With the band began my first concert.

In subsequent years, I continued to play using the Atari and Cubase and a Yamaha synth. New Group O.B.E. of (Mamis-vocals and bass, Robi-guitar and synth). Often there were two and rarely joined us on drums (Alexander-drums) and guitarist (Helium-guitar).
Finally the last group the Anniluce (Mamis-voice, Andrea-bass-guitar George Antonio-drum, Robi-guitar) had a good repertoire and sound like supporters of Movida.
About a couple of years ago was born the projectRobi s.O. Collaborations with various artists and studios allowed me to create and edit music and sound for film and documentary productions.
I am currently working on their video of a 3D design

About: Azrock and Pogo

Launched in 2009, Azrock and Pogo is a musical duo represented by the characters Azrock (an eccentric inventor and musical genius) and Pogo (a homeless orphan girl with an angelic voice). It is not known if there is any autobiographical element to the characters in relation to the actual musicians behind Azrock and Pogo.

The characters and story behind them are delivered through their website, where chapters of the book are posted one at a time, along with illustrations from acclaimed artist Meredith Dillman.

The music straddles multiple genres and could arguably be classified as pop, rock, electronica or dance. It also can include strong elements of classical or operatic vocals and arrangements, trip-hop beats and basslines, and a definate retro vibe in various incarnations.

About: Promize

Promize® was formed in early 2000 and has several albums and movie sound tracks to their credit. They have been featured multiple times in Rolling Stone magazine turned down a deal with Sony! They blew away sound scan and hit the CMJ charts without a record deal with their first CD! They’ve had national air play and were recently named Best New Alternative Artist. They have opened for such acts as Smile Empty Soul, Bush, Poison, Peter Wolf, George Lynch, DOKKEN, LA GUNNS and many other major label acts.

Although their line-up has changed over the years, their dark and melodic sound has only gotten better with age. Promize has been working on their major label debut album for Universal Music Group with original founding members Dave Manning on drums, Leslie on vocals, long-time keys man Rob Sweeney, Scotty on bass/backing vocal, new comer Jon boy Zera on guitars and Kelly B on guitar/Vocals.

The new album entitled REASON features such ground-breaking tracks as Big Blue & Stronger than You which promises to be the album of their careers and the album that breaks the mold & changes the way people think of Modern/Alternative rock. Producing and mixing Promize’s new album is Grammy nominated producer Glen Robinson who has worked with Metallica & the Foo-Fighters. Mastering the album is the famous Howie Weinberg! The Grammy Winning master has mastered such epic albums as Nirvana’s Nevermind, Tool’s Undertow and multiple albums for The Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden and Helmet to name a few.
